Korg pa4x mg2
I found this video on youtube
https://youtu.be/14tE_jhBOrw
Its from Korg Lebanon, who i allways tought to be an affiliate of Korg.
Seems obviously they hacked the system
But since it requires the orriginal system, i dont see much harm to Korg
Overhere in Holland, this would be a legal thing(the update)
Altough selling it commercially might be a different thing, not sure about that.
Nevertheless i am very interesting to know what features they added..
Can anyone shed some light on this project?
My Arabic is very rusty, some would consider not existant at all.

Keep on thinking of that since it's obvious !Bachus wrote:... Korg Lebanon, who i allways thought to be an affiliate of Korg.

OS hacking was feasible by advanced programmers up to earlier models and Pa4X OS before encryption !
From now on only KorgPa affiliates with ND Agreement have access to OS with providen source code and also
this keyboard is not just a simple mod but contrary a industrial production of the same factory !
At any other case Korg would had a prompt legal reaction ...

Yup. The face panel of the keyboard has several obvious and unique buttons and stamping above and beyond the software differences. Must be Korg approved.AntonySharmman wrote:Keep on thinking of that since it's obvious !Bachus wrote:... Korg Lebanon, who i allways thought to be an affiliate of Korg.

More fill-ins per style
More RAM (comming soon)
Personalised interface adapted for live oriental play needs
Diffrent/highest quality samples/styles than they made for the europe/usa oriental version
You can buy it on you’r own risk if you don’t live near them
Because Korg italy don’t know/support this version

I really don’t apreciate this type of politic
Korg accept the same company to provide a poor sample quality for the Orientale version and a high quality samples for the MG version !!
Yamaha PSR/Tyros/Genos is the same where ever you buy it from.
There is no local version nor different commercial politics....

Really ugly design.........wrong button's positions and Os's structure not so clean to work with...
Everything on screen have tiny letters to understand what is what ....
I prefer LG's remote control that you can talk to it and do the functions you want....no no no no no.....i hope we won't see something similar on Original pa4x.....at least they could add a pacman game

Obviously you are wrong my friend .. Korg Lebanon (Music Gear) are authorized and approved by Korg to create the Music Gear Edition. In fact, all software and physical changes of the MG Edition are made for Music Gear by Korg Italy and then shipped to Korg Lebanon (Music Gear).Bachus wrote:I found this video on youtube

I already ordered the Pa4X MG Edition II and it has many major changes over the standard Oriental version including physical buttons (Micro Keyboard) for Arabic/ME scale.
Current Keyboard: Korg Pa4X-76 MG Edition II with PaAS
Older Keyboards: GEM WS1, and Ketron Vega EX
PC: HP Z1 G3 AIO Workstation
DAW: Presonus Studio One Pro 4

MG Edition 2 has everything the standard Oriental version has, but it adds so many Middle Eastern programs, sounds, and styles, plus unique and patented software (OS) and hardware features such as Quick Select function and the hardware Oriental Scale Micro Keyboard.Bachus wrote:Okay...

No, the HQ unique samples in the MG Editions are made and patented by Music Gear, so Korg can not use them in the standard Oriental version, unless Music Gear give them the permission.laurance wrote:I really don’t apreciate this type of politic

Same thing applies for the other unique software or hardware features that are patented by Music Gear.

It might be ugly for you, and button's positions might look wrong to you, but this is not the case for most Arabic userskorg1 wrote:Really ugly design.........wrong button's positions and Os's structure not so clean to work with...

Re: Korg pa4x mg2
I use the Pa4X MG Edition II. The keyboards are made by Korg Italy for Music Gear (Korg Lebanon). the main additional features are as follows:
- Quick Select (proprietary to Music Gear)
- Vailar Analog Emulator (proprietary to Music Gear)
- Arabic scale
- Style: 3 intro + 4 fill + break + 6 variation + ending
- 2GB RAM (1.5GB for Music Gear Samples + 400MB user accessible) so it basically handles 3 sets (Factory, User and Direct) without exhausting the RAM
- Improved Maxx Audio output
