Latching a sample with loop point in combi mode

Post by rmdrent »

I know this is an easy one, but can't figure this out...
Trying to figure out how you "latch" an audio sample in a COMBI mode?
I created a sample with a loop point. Converted it to a program, and now want to use it in a COMBI and have it play "endlessly" until I shut it off during song... It works fine if I hold the key down? I know how to make it work in SEQ mode using RPPR, but really just want it to work in a COMBI if possible...
What am I missing?
Thanks

Well you should have made a Program with the sample and inserted the program in the Combi. You can edit the program to enable the HOLD function and it will play forever. I do this regularly creating "drones". In my case I also tie that drone to the vector joystick so I can kill it by moving the VJS down.

Also, you can use the "Tone Adjust" to set the hold without modifying the original program. You will have to edit the tone adjust for that program as the hold function isn't usually there by default.

New to the Kronos, (former Triton and M50 guy here)....
I did make a program with the sample... So, its in the editing of that program that I am having issues. I'll play around with that tonight...
Thanks again..

I believe it's on the second edit page, lower left. Also, you can kill the sound by hitting the compare button or switching to another combi.

I use that also frequently.
To stop the sound, I map two keys of my program to the combi.
One key triggers the sample and the second has no wave mapped which, when I press the key, stops the first note because I set the program to monophonic.

That's a good idea.
When you use that method to stop the sound, can it fade out or does it stop abruptly?
