Korg Volca sample 16 bar song limit ?

Is it correct that in song mode on the volca sample you can only assign patterns (parts) to 16 steps to make a song- does this mean the the volca sample can only play a song which is 16 bars long ??

i dont know many songs that last 16 bars lol.

Kinda seems a bit limiting for such a great machine- or is it just me ?

Is there a way to trigger individual patterns (parts) via midi so i can make a song longer ??
