What is the best choice? Pa4x or Kronos
I am so torn. I don't play for money, just for fun. I just want something that allows me to be a one man band in my living room. Pa4x or Kronos?

Hi Robert
They are both amazing keyboards and IMHO have similar quality sounds and features.
You want to be a ONE-MAN BAND:- PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X PA4X
SO - some other questions to ask yourself:-
1. Do you want to improvise/play along with amazing "bands" supporting you? (you've implied that already!!) (Definitely PA4X)
2. Do you want very high quality sounds? (PA4X and Kronos)
3. Do you want a deep featured sequencer with 16 MIDI tracks and 16 Audio tracks? (Kronos)
4. Do you want to create your own fantastic sounds? (Kronos and PA4X)
If you answer YES to no 1 then the PA4X is definitely for you. This is probably the most significant question.
Although Kronos has KARMA effects (which can often be played like an arranger (backing accompaniments)) it is NOT an arranger.
PA4X really gives you a LIVE band to play with (100's of them!!!).
Both keyboards have fabulous operating systems and control surfaces conducive to performing and recording.
I don't know if this has helped at all but please ask if you want any more details/feedback etc....
Cheers
Pete

I guess I really need to research what I can do with an arranger. I've never owned a professional instrument before, but as I get older and have more disposable income, I figured I'd just do it so I can have no limitations on what I can do. Before a few weeks ago, I had no idea there was a difference between a workstation and an arranger. The last time I even looked at a professional keyboard was the Korg Poly 800 back in the late 80's
I've been playing on a midi controller for years, and I wanted to break away from the laptop and have something all built in.
I think the reason I am so torn is because I have been doing all my research on YouTube, and there are more videos on Kronos than PA4X. (At least in English.)
I guess the arranger function is where I need to do more homework. It's a shame Korg doesn't just have an all in one between the features of the Kronos and PA4X
