Hi there,
My volca works great, but when I plug in a 30cm MIDI patch into my controller (AN1X synth), the signal drops, and suddenly the key sensitivity on the controller isn't consistent. Do you think this a thing that happens with MIDI controllers connected to the volca or do only expensive MIDI cables work? Or do I need to get a dedicated controller and not another synth? I think this MIDI cable was a midrange one. Any tips very appreciated
Thank you

Which volca?
A MIDI signal is low bandwidth, low chance that it is the cable itself. After all, it is a digital signal, it does not affect the sensitivity, it's rather going to be the messages sent over.
My guess, maybe the key velocity curves on your controller do not match well with the volca.
If you hit the keys harder on the controller, does the audio sounds louder?
