External midi control of Sequencer track volume in playback

Post by MattNZ »

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to disable the background (or setup) volume settings of tracks in the step sequencer for playback, does anyone know?

My plan is to perform songs (pre-recorded as loops of say 16 measures) where I can manipulate the volume levels and fx send levels from an external standalone midi controller transmitting cc messages and also continue to play some elements live. I've had some success playing around with the idea but it seems that whenever the tracks loop back to the starting measure the original recorded volume of the track is automatically reapplied creating a sharp jump or drop in volume at that point.

Ideally i would start the song with all tracks at 0 volume and i would use external faders to bring different tracks in and out, then each track's volume at the end of the loop would be maintained as the loop restarts.

Any ideas would be very warmly welcomed. I haven't found any obvious answers so far in the operation and parameter guides.
