Dual manual / Second Midi controller

Post by graspieper »

Hi,

I know it's possible to connect a midi controller to the Kross, but how easy is it to switch sounds for this second manual?
I have a Roland VR09, and that supports a 'split' mode in which the lower/left part is assigned to the external Midi keyboard, which is very convenient.

Best regards, Steven

Hi,

In short. Set up a combi with 2 timbres.

In the MIDI page, you make sure that 1 of the timbres is assigned to the global channel (typically 1). This timbre will sound when you play the Kross.
Assign another channel number than the global channel to the second timbre. This is the timbre that will sound when you play the second manual.

Make sure that the Roland uses the same MIDI channel number as the second timbre.
