1st with the PA1000 MUSIKANT

Post by Kiokio »

Hi.
German PA1000 enthusiasts have been looking forward to the relese of the PA1000 style package (just a micro SD dongle for 199,- Euros!)

I got mine yesterday 1st Dec.
I'm lovin' it.
(Shameless boasting here, sorry.)

Had to cut into my MicroPA1000 to reach the micro SD slot.
And now I have the first AND the ONLY
MicroMUSIKANT (just 62 cm wide)
(Aaah, Shameless boasting again) :D

Kiokio,

Awesome. I'm admittedly envious.

I live in the USA (California) and it seems the vendor MusicProductiv only ships it within Europe.

Korg Pa1000 Musikant Software (on micro SD)

Korg Pa1000 Musikant Software Demo

Does anyone here know a Korg Pa1000 Musikant software vendor that will ship this item to me the USA?
I might even entertain the idea of paying a forum member in Europe to purchase and ship this to me.

Kiokio, congrats again and enjoy your new Korg Pa1000 Musikant Collection. You earned bragging rights. :)

Ordered from them before without problems. They will get back to you to confirm international shipping cost (they did with me), and I received my order via DHL I believe.

Planning on buying the Musikant SD expansion as well.

Buy the way, the style and voices are MOT on the SD card. You will have to download them for free separately.

Musicmaker84: many thanks for letting me know that Music Store Germany will ship to the USA. 8)

Realizing that the Pa1000 has got a limited amount (960 megabytes )of onboard internal memory available, and assuming the downloadable Musickant voices & styles is stored in this onboard internal memory area, how large in total size (total megabytes) are the Musikant for Pa1000's "Voice" and "Style" files?

Also, can I assume that no Pa1000 factory styles or sounds or existing user styles or user sounds are overwritten, altered, or affected in any way?

Thanks for more detailed explanation on how the Musikant for Pa1000 on micro SD Card works.

Scott :)

Midimusa, thanks for testing and reporting back that the Pa1000 Musikant Collection doesn't overwrite existing material. :)

Here's an audio demo collection of what's on the Pa1000 Musikant SD.

Korg Pa1000 Musikant Audio Demos

Nice mix of material for party entertainment not only in Germany, but a lot suitable for American audiences too.

I ordered mine online this morning from Music Store Professional in Cologne, Germany and it's already on the way to me in California, USA via UPS Worldwide Express Saver (3 days) with expected delivery Monday 12/17. Wooo hoot! \:D/

Many thanks to MusicMaker84 for the heads up that Music Store Professional ships to the USA, as many other music stores in Germany don't.

I trust that the download link is provided in the box that the Musikant on micro SD Card is shipped in?

Exciting News !
My Pa1000 Musikant micro SD Card arrived here today in San Francisco, CA, from Cologne Germany (in just 3 days). :) I'm excited to run the installation, but I only received Install instructions in German so I used Google to translate it into English as I regrettably can't read German. For anyone interested, I've included my translated into english version here.

The Korg Pa1000 Musikant installation instructions make a point to ensure that the "user and factory styles, keyboardsets, pads and more, are NOT overwritten or affected by the installation of the MUSIKANT Software.

The Musikant software includes:

Musikant sounds (including PCM Data)
Musikant drumkits
Musikant styles
Musikant keyboardsets
Musikant pads

If these do not affect or overwrite existing Pa1000 data, where is the above Musikant software (sounds, drumkits, styles, keyboardsets, pads) installed? On the micro SD Card?

The Musikant Collection includes a Songbook with hundreds of songs. I obviously don't want to lose any of the songs already in my current Songbook, but want to integrate the Musikant Songbook entries with my current Songbook entries, either integrating the songbooks together, or being able to manually add only selected songs of one book to the other. Can this be done on the PC, with the latest version 3.0 of the Korg Songbook Editor software which now finally supports the Pa1000? Thanks for any help and guidance.

I don't know from where are taken that reousces for Musikant - i hope that adittional samples will be on the SD Dongle. But when trying KB with this addon i see many times "Not enough memory" - even right now when i don't have any user samples on my KB. I have seen similar warnings before so i think that the reason is somewhere in other places of sharing the memory.
But where?

@scottyee glad purchasing from Music Store worked out for you. Plus, they didnt charge you sales tax :)

Have you installed the software?

I am going to buy the Musikant software after tax return or so.

Hi!

Now, about month ago I get the dongle. I should say that any problems that were before are disapeared. What I get - I have now full working areas in local styles (8x6x12) slots - 576, many sound areas, many performance areas.
Yes, You can live without that dongle and revoice the keyboard as You like.
Allmost of the styles and performances and sounds of the musikant everyone can modify by taste, but I am glad of the result what I get with this dongle.
There is a little demo how the KB sound with dongle: https://soundcloud.com/midimusa/korg-pa ... ikant-demo
