Issue while trying to save a bank of my own samples

I've been getting a "low battery" warning when I try to save a bank of samples I've been working on. My Microsampler is plugged into the wall and powers on just fine but I can't save a bank of samples. Clearly I can load some new batteries but is this normal? Shouldn't I be able to use the MicroSampler without batteries installed if its plugged in and drawing power?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
