What genre you are using Microstation?

Post by arpegiator1 »

I wonder what kind of genre you would like new combinations or programs for Microstation. Write here or just me, if you are not signed in, what you use Microstation for what music. If this instrument is spread only among country players, classical music, rock or even dance and related styles or other ....

I just picked one up because I hurt my back an can't use my full sized keys for a few months. The microStation is perfect on a tv table from my wheelchair.
I play mostly electric piano and organ in Soul/R&B, and the sounds in this are better than I anticipated. I've ordered the B3 patch from Sweetwater this weekend, so I can keep up my chops while I recover.

I am on symphonic / power metal stuff, my setup includes multi layered programs in many key zones, just the necessary to squeeze many strings, bells, woods, brass, synth pads, pianos, harpsichord, choirs and leads in 5-6 octaves that i control from a keytar mostly. I used to integrate pc based sample libraries also but step back to just reliable hardware only. Now I'd bought a Kross 2 and I'm making custom samples for choirs and orchestra in order to bring back the multi GB realism of software into trusted hardware I can rely on. Migrating all custom programs and combinations from my trusty microStation also. Quite good sounds those on microStation and Kross 2 (same engine) and super portable. I couldn't be happier with both. I'm also including now a korg monologue exclusively for leads.

Regards,
JJ

I personally like more Korg Minilogue thanks to the possibility of polyphonic programs and morphing. But I also enjoyed it here on microStation. Anyway thanks for the post. Are you sure you will not use my sounds or have you tried? They are free ..
