KROSS2 editor - Hardware is not found

Post by Tragedy »

Hi, please help. When i launch Kross2 Editor i get this error:

"KROSS2 Hardware is not found, or may be in very busy. Retry searching KROSS2 Hardware?"

If i click OK, then it pops this error: "KROSS2 Hardware is not found, or may be in very busy. Rescan all the MIDI devices?". I click OK and nothing happens, under Global settings of editor i see "KROSS2 (not connected)".

Actually it worked first time i launched it without installing Korg Driver, but then it say i must install driver to work properly and after this it stopped working. Uninstalling, installing etc... dont work :( Still same error.

edit:
Under "Korg Uninstall Utility" i see 2 midi items "Standard driver (KROSS2)" and "KORG KROSS2".
Under Korg USB MIDI Driver i see "KROSS2 #1" under Device List...

SOLVED!

It looks, that Windows 10 can have only 10 MIDI devices registered. So if you registered (connected) more than 10 MIDI devices in the past, new devices won't work. Don't know if it is a bug or Windows 10 are just stupid, but thanks to this video i solved this problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9OfwDr8oYQ

You can also use "Korg MIDI uninstaller" to do this stuff.

To put it politely, this is a Windows "feature" which has probably caught most of us out at one time or another.

Plugging the same USB MIDI device into three different USB connectors uses up three of the 10 available "slots" so it's best to always plug the Kross into the same USB connector every time.
