Yes, Marco Parisi is really incredible. He's the guy who is perfectly mastering Roli Keyboard.
Hearing the video you sent, Greg, I have a funny thought about all those who are saying that the Kronos is completely out of date !!
Beautiful duo, Jordan Ruddess and Marco Parisi : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jshQWP0gQ-k

I would like to add one of his videos, speaking of his studio, few years ago.

And specially from 5:40. Because he's speaking of the Studiologic Sledge, wich is one of my keyboards.
Once more, many people say it's a sythn without any interest. Of course, it's a nonsense. It's typically this kind of synth with which we can create a strong connection.
Regarding realistic orchestral sounds from 3rd party developers for the Kronos, it seems like they all have a certain amount of velocity triggered layers. While this is great for staccato sounds, it’s not so great for legato playing.
Crossfading between 2 dynamic layers (using a continues controller) can give incredibly realistic results. No need to buy any 3rd party libraries if you already have orchestral plug-ins in your DAW. Sample those yourself.

good quality Orchestra sounds is on my shopping list. I am still getting usage from the medium/large ensembles in the Kronos factory sounds. Its almost time to expand my palette of this group.FB Music wrote:Regarding realistic orchestral sounds from 3rd party developers for the Kronos, it seems like they all have a certain amount of velocity triggered layers. I haven't warmed up to Aders's many EXs. Its part high cost, seeing if they fit my approach plus the extra work with bank management.
I have string sections covered with Kronos factory stuff and my FA. My search is for the medium to large Orchestra group. Say most bang for the buck.
So far, this is on top of my shopping list:

I like the $99 and the trial demo approach.

Re: Realistic Sounds
I just recorded this horror project, using KApro orchestral samples and the Kronos sequencer. No other equipment was used, just Kronos.netunof wrote:Hi folks, i'm kinda dissatisfied with some of the stock tones of Kronos, specially orchestral, brass, woodwinds and guitars. Is it possible to make the sounds more realistic?
