no sound from computer to zero 8

Hi

i recently bought a korg zero 8 and I have connected it to an old mac mini 2009 model via firewire. I want to use it as a soundcard for the mini.
I have set the audio preferences in the mac to zero 8 for the output and turned the knob to audio in the zero 8 but I don't get any sound from my computer, no signal is coming to my mixer. any ideas?

no one who knows how to fix this?

I mean, it should be as easy as choosing zero 8 at the sound prefs, but apparently something more has to be done. do I need firmware drivers for this, even though zero 8 is recognized in the sound prefs?

ok, for those interested, I managed to get it working. It seems that the default routing is to the first channel and only that channel. I also installed live 6 and that may have "triggered" the sound.
