Octave up/Down

Post by rod_proteus »

Hi guys !..

I have a doubt about "octave up/down" methods in Kronos.

is there a "fast way" to adjust the octave up/down in Program mode ?.

I have other keyboards and they have a pair of buttons to the left for that purposing... So, the only way that I know to adjust the octave is editing the program.

Thank you very much guys.

The pianos have SW1 default to do this.

Other programs will depend on which engine is being used.

Does it have to be a button? In the Program Common tab, it's pretty easy to enter an octave shift under "transpose". If you specifically need to have a button assigned, there's no way to have that set up globally, you just have to save it program by program, and it will differ by engine.

I have extended the octave transpose to using pedals on my K2-73. As a piano player I use both hands to play the full range, and the SW1 and SW2 are inconvenient for me. (You can set any program to use both SW1 and SW2 for octave up down).

I use the pedal sw for octave down and the pedal controller for octave up, and with a bit of practice can play with both hands past the physical range of the 73 keys.
The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Yamaha MontageM8x, Studiologic Numa Piano X GT.
Other important stuff: Novation Summit, NI Komplete Ultimate 14 CE, Omnisphere, EW Hollywood Orchestra Opus, Spitfire Symphony Orchestra, Pianoteq 8 Pro, Roland RD88.

Here's how to make your SW1 and SW2 into Octave buttons:

In Program mode, go to the Common tab, then press the Controllers tab.

Under the picture of the SW1, touch the arrow to open the dropdown menu, and you can see Octave Down as an option.

Do the same for SW2 but choose Octave Up.
