OS 3 Patch / sound bank problem
I am having issues with patch names and sound banks.
As an example the factory guitar sound bank has Cavaquinho 1 as he first patch ( 121.020.024) . But the actual The actual patch which load is a concert Gtr DNC which is a legacy guitar... This probelm is there with most other banks as well. Any ideas ??

My V3 default factory SOUND banks (International PA4X) are as follows:-
Cavaquinho 1 & 2 are in the FACTORY SOUND>>Ethnic>>P1 (not guitar)
Factory SOUND>>Guitar>> (first guitar in bank) is Concert Gtr DNC which is correct
The Legacy concert guitar is different and is called "Concert Gtr Pro"
Looks like your resources have not loaded correctly or a subsequent SET load has shuffled things - try another factory restore and if it doesn't work I would suggest a new download and install of V3.
Let us know how you go

V3 install
1.
- v2.xx - save all (v2.set)
- media > utility > factory restore
2.
- install v3.0.0
3.
- media > utility > factory restore
- media > load > (v2.set)
- v2.xx - save all (v2.set)
- media > utility > factory restore
2.
- install v3.0.0
3.
- media > utility > factory restore
- media > load > (v2.set)

Apologies but this is a little misleading.1.
- v2.xx - save all (v2.set)
- media > utility > factory restore
This should be
- 1.
- v2.xx - save all (v2.set)
- Delete all sample data
Be careful reloading your saved SET as it will/may overwrite the new V3 styles in Favorite banks - these are still available in the supplied Resources files in the update package.
Please follow Korg's instructions - they are very clear and easy to follow.
Cheers
Pete

Hi everyone,
There is a discrepancy between the instruments (element's names and locations)
of the styles and the corresponding instruments in the SOUND banks,
and that is for the Factory, User and Direct banks. The only tracks that seem to match
are the Drums and Percussions.
I've noticed the same in the Keyboard Sets.
Factory>Guitar>P1 Real Nylon Gtr. Upper 1 reads Concert Gtr DNC,
press on it and it takes you Factory (Sounds) Guitar P1 ''Cavaquinho1''.
Isn't it supposed to read ''Concert Gtr DNC'' as it used to do before.
Several others pinpoint to completly different locations and names.
I think we need a correction update very soon.
Regards,

Re: OS 3 Patch / sound bank problem
I am not sure if your problem is resolved or not. However, here's what I faced and how I resolved my issue. It took, maybe, 5 mins to fix.deminda wrote:I am having issues with patch names and sound banks.

After a smooth installation of 3.0.0, I noticed that many of the names did not match the sounds. Then, I read "karmathanever"'s comment on Korg's instructions, so I went back to the upgrade manual and found this.
So, that's all I really did. All is well now. After loading the new OS, execute a Factory Restore
After having loaded the operating system, please use the Media > Utility > Factory Restore command to update the musical resources. Musical resources are loaded with the operating system, but must be updated using this command.
I must confess, I felt like Korg Krome all over -- some of you here know what I am talking about -- that aweful crackling piano sound.
