Arpeggiators not independent

Post by Myuserid »

Help. I've created a track using an arpeggiator A. During recording, I turned the arp on and off. Great, I got what I was looking for BUT

when I try to use arp B on another track, it turns on and off as if it were playing back arp A. Does this mean I can't use two arpeggiators in a song? There's only one arp switch for two arpeggiators. Why would one arp turn the other off? My style really needs both arpeggiators. Are there any workarounds for this? Thanks for any insight.

Actually the arp on/off button start or stop the arpeggiators. You need a different trigger for each arp and it's possible on different zone, different velocity.
In seq mod can use RPPR better then arp.
Please tell me exactly you want to do and will try to find a best solution.

Hi Dan, thanks for your reply. I don't think RPPR is a good fit for what I'm trying to do. In my example, I'm using an ARP with Latch turned on. I want a simple way to start and stop ARP A without effecting ARP B. As you say, perhaps I need a different type of trigger than the ARP button. I'm not sure how to set up a zone to do that. Velocity doesn't seem like a good trigger in this case. Regardless, I don't know how to do it. Hope that makes sense. Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

Open page P7 Arpeggiator/Drum Track
Open sub page SCAN ZONE
Select the range from Bottom Key to Top Key for ARP A
Select a different range zone for ARP B.
Now have a different trigger for each arpeggiator.
Is that you looking for ?

Thanks Dan, I gave that a try but the scan zone doesn't trigger the arp. Must be doing something wrong. Any thoughts?

Ok. Remember the Latch param keep the ARP running after trigg. So maybe will need to use the Latch off to can switch the arp A-B.

The SCAN ZONE is the parameter for select the zone where trig your arp. So if ARP A scan zone is set like this :bottom C4 top C5. Will start the ARP A in this area. Please try and let me know if working.

Sure, thanks. I think you have my email. But I'm not sure this is a solution to my issue.

In sequencer mode:

Record an arp pattern (Arp A) on track one. Turn the arp on and off using the arp button while recording.

Record an arp pattern (Arp B) on track two. The arp will turn on and off the way you played arp A.

Recording the on/off functionality of the arp button for one arp will control the on/off functionality of the second arp.

The only way I see that I can record an arp in latch mode and to turn it on and off without affecting the other arp is to press the latch button on the P7 page which is a pain in the neck and not very accurate time-wise.

sorry if this is confusing.

Ok, I understand your condition.
Strat to rec the track 1 and use the ARP button on and off during recording.
After recording you not need the arp for track 1 so can switch it off. The track will play the notes from the arp pattern even that the arp is off, so can use the button on and off for track 2.
