Prophet 6+Expression Pedal

Post by Equalizer23 »

Hi Hi
So I have a setup with a Korg Kronos 2 61 and a DSI Prophet 6 MIDI'd together (Kronos MIDI Out to Prophet MIDI In), and via Combi's I'm able to layer & split different parts of the Prophet (with program changes as well).
I want to add my expression pedal (Korg EXP-2) to mostly open and close filter cutoff on different patches on the Kronos (which I know how to program) and on the Prophet (which I don't).
Is there a way to send the MIDI CC 04 from the expression pedal to the Prophet which will control the filter cutoff (on the Prophet manual it's CC 102)?
Thanks in advance

I’ve owned both and used to control my P6 from my Kurzweil Forte. Both the P6 and the K2 are a bit less flexible when it comes to midi controllers. For example the P6 does not respond to cc11 and the K2 only has a limited range of midi controller codes that can be assigned to the foot pedal, and these are at a global level so even if you could assign the code you need for the P6 filter it would render the pedal useless for anything else in the combi etc.

I would suggest just plugging the pedal into the p6 pedal 2 cutoff input, if you don’t need the pedal to control anything on the K2, this would be the easiest. It also suggests in the P6 manual that it will transmit cc04 (foot pedal) from an assigned pedal (1 volume, or 2 cut off). So if you did need to control something else on the K2 with the pedal this would work provided you plugged midi din from the P6 out to the K2 in.
