EMX-1 Modulation Jitter or something to that effect(no pun)

I've owned the Synth since 2008. My problem started around 1.5 years after I bought it and I kind of gave up on it since I figured the warranty was probably expired.
Basically the screen starts flashing between these
DEPTH HI GAIN
DEPTH LOW GAIN
PITCH
SPEED

It's not limited to these but I haven't documented every instance when the flashing starts. I'll post the rest of them as I continue forward.

When it starts flashing I lose control of all the buttons and knobs, I can't switch songs and sounds that I've tweaked to my liking get all wobbly.

What has me baffled is that I know that the pitch and speed knobs are located in the Edit Section> Modulation, but I'm not sure where DEPTH HI GAIN, DEPTH LOW GAIN come from.
I will go ahead and acknowledge that I'm not very proficient the the use of this synth and a lot of this can be attributed to the fact that I've shelved it away for years due to its' unreliability and my lack of patience that pursues.
I finally pulled it back out today and this time I started looking for troubleshooting and came across this site. It seems like there are a lot of people that know what they're talking about but I didn't see a topic similar. Hoping someone might have some insight as I'm looking forward to using it.
