Hanging Chords

Post by Elsensee »

Hey EK-50 guys,

meanwhile this keyboard is my friend, even if he is buggy.
F.e.: I play "somewhere over the rainbow" using Music Style M49 in Bb, Intro + Sync Start, one finger chord.
Next chord is Dm, at once the sound is awful, there are components absolutely wrong.
Next chord Eb everything is o.k., you can repeat the song as much you like, the hell sound does not appear again.
Switching to three finger mode, the effect is not so strong.
If you restart the whole setting from the beginning, the awful sound is back.

Is there anyone on the globe who can confirm this effect?

Hi - Sorry I am away at the moment ....and only have a Liverpool with me for my holidays, so I have no way of testing this for you

Hope someone tries it for you to 'compare' in the meantime -regards

Maybe run it past support for now...

hej Keith, no problem, take your time...
I will try out, if this happens too in other combinations using the M sounds.
I hear Mr. Korg saying: hey guy you better have to buy a Pa modell...

PA are ok if you want to mess with settings / parameters and want to invest a lot more cash !

EK is just a sit and 'play' fun, instrument - and they are as cheap as chips. It has to be the best entry board I have ever owned with a very easy OS.

I use an EK at home in tandem with a Yamaha and find it great

I wont be using my EK50 until mid March now.
Having to cope with a small Liverpool....even more difficult to use than was my PA1000 !!

hej Keith,
what is a >small Liverpool< the Liverpool trainer Jürgen Klopp isn't small

I tried out other combinations re Music Styles with this crazy Rainbow song.

M49 without Lower Part the 1. playing sounds bad, the next are good.
M49 with Lower Part sounds always bad.

M17 without Lower Part sounds always good.
M17 with Lower Part sound always bad.

In conclusion: it depends on Lower Part, if it is on ore of, but not consistently.

O.k., that's EK-50 logic, let's close this talk.

A 'Liverpool' is basically the same board as the Korg 'Microarranger' It just has 100 Liverpool styles built in . Both models have 61 mini keys and are basically small PA arrangers. Ideal for when I am away from home as they are very compact and lightweight.
