Microphone audio in is broken and needs a new part Pa3x61

Post by losackmd2 »

Bought the unit 10 months ago. Love the mic/Helicon feature.
too much perhaps. I take such good care of my equipment.
used it everyday. One day recently i hit the MIC button and no sound.
The audio in light will not turn green. Tried everything. Brought it in for repair. Needs a new part. Korg doesnt have the part listed. The wait is terrifying. I'm afraid it could take 4-6 weeks.

Have any of you had a problem with the mic in/volume control?
I have never owned a musical instrument that needed repair.
Im talking 27 years. Ensoniq, Roland, Casio, never!

Is Korgs Pa3x a fragile unit? any thoughts or experience on this issue.
I realize life isnt perfect but maybe i am not the only one whose mic input
broke! or am i !
thanks

this is a new machine acc to them??????????
the part POT0010001 is new and they dont know if its available
nor how long it will take to ship

an air of extreme indifference

i take it all of your mics work fine

ROgue says they never encountered a problem like this before

i think ive exhausted all possibilities

except continuing to annoy them for the part
or get a refund..................

Hi,

Was the MIC switch checked properly?
Sometimes those micro-switches get broke, or their connectors lose contact with the PCB.
If this is the case you might find someone to replace just the switch, or solder it properly.
This would be a matter of hours and not weeks.

I hope you will have your Pa3x fixed soon.

I have the same problem. Mic just stops working. I had never touched the knob in the back of the keyboard for years but was trying to alleviate feedback and distortion. A couple weeks after messing with the volume knob on the back of the unit the mic just stops working. Also seem to be getting low level shock from the unit / mic.

Read in a post that the volume nob at the back of the keyboard could be the issue. The part was around 6 dollars US plus shipping cost was about 15 Canadian. Potentiometer, for PA3X Mic In (Part #1399) I held onto the part while I tried different things. Unplugging and plugging back in seemed to work but then would drop out again. Using phantom power with condenser mic seemed to work but the problem would return. Reloaded all software didn't fix the issue. Tried all the mic settings as well. Found a guy on line would advertised micro soldering. I removed the board and took it to him. Had it soldered for 25$. Costed me 50$ and problem is now resolved.

here the web page where you can order the part
