Replacing I30 Floppy Disk to USB Floppy Disk Emulator ?'s

Post by Deathrow_Bo_Dean »

Hello All, I have a I30 and I'd like to replace the Floppy Disk Drive with a USB Floppy drive Emulator. I'm wondering if anyone here has done that procedure? I've found several of there USB FD emulators on the web i,e amazon EBay and etc. There are also a few You Tube's that demostrate just how to install it. However,
I'm wondering if I will need to reinstall the OS again or not. Please advise if you can.

Sorry for delayed reply - only just seen your post.

I have installed one of these in my Korg Karma, Korg i5M, Yamaha QY700 with no issues.

I never opened up my i30 but if it has a standard PC-style FDD (cables etc..) then it should be easy and no, you should not need to re-install the OS - the i30 should not notice the change.

Cheers

I did it many years ago and it is still working.
There was no problem and no need to re install OS.
