So on stage I did a tour for two years and I could get away with the Kronos CX3 and the Neo. But without the Neo, the Kronos' leslie sim is just no option - again IMHO.

So, you did found a solution which suits you ?

I have been using the CX3 engine with the Ventilator in my church band.

Recently, I discovered the B-3X from IK Multimedia. It was a joint venture with Hammond Suzuki. I have it in my iPad and connected with just a single USB cable. This sounds way better than the previous setup.
If you already have an iPad and a USB cable, this app is amazing.

I have no affiliation with these companies but have serviced and played Hammonds for 45+ years. There's nothing like the real thing in person, but this is an inexpensive and light option that will satisfy most listeners including the player.

Audio reproduction has to be a major consideration

Plus stereo panning which the Kronos FX provide.

Thus audio in stereo seems to be important.

I was a B3 + 145 owner back in the days of covered wagons.

No, it is far from ideal.

I just wish they added the monopoly on this one from day one but it probably lacks the CPU... it's now probably easier to have a full kronos gadget on an iPad....

No, you need to use the midi out of your kronos to get gadget on your ipads or macs gadgets..

Gadget however has many other remarkable tools.

Karma is part of the reason why the kronos makes such a good controller for software instruments..

Unfortunately, for many users, the existing engines remain largely unexplored.

That would be me, and my only edit to this would be "Fortunately," as I feel like there's a huge box of cool, shiny new toys waiting for me to play with whenever I get to them. Without spending any more money.

I bought the Kronos with the intention of getting some legit keyboard chops (been a guitarist since the 70s). It might seem insane to buy a flagship keyboard when you can't really play, but from my early guitar days I remember what it was like to learn on a cheap (i.e. crap) instrument, and the difference a good one made. So, I decided to get something good that would be a pleasurable learning experience, and per the unexplored engines, something I wouldn't outgrow anytime soon.

I mostly use the piano when I sit down to play or practice, occasionally some B3 or Rhodes on recordings. I'm still no keyboard player but it's getting more comfortable. When the time comes where playing feels natural, I'll have this whole new world to explore with all the other engines.

I have, over the years, occasionally regretted the money I spent on certain pieces of music gear. The Kronos is not one of them. It's the gift that keeps on giving.
