Factory reset of microKONTROL49

Post by Singsign »

Hi all, first post. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to factory reset the old MicroKONTROL49 - I think the previous owner has configured it with some kind of clever preset, but I really just want to use it as a simple plug and play midi controller. At this point, I cannot map the controls in Ableton Live, and thus I thought a reset might fix it. I've checked the manual (p 54) but that does not seem to apply...any ideas??

The Editor Librarian allows the factory default Scenes to be loaded into the microKontrol.

One thing that could be tried is to load the latest firmware using System Update, which might at least put the correct firmware into the controller.

Another thing to consider is that the microKontrol might be in native mode. To return to Play mode, hold down the "Setting" "Message" and "Scene" keys and then press the "Exit" key.

editor/librarian

Hi, yeah, thanks - I've thought about that, but of course I happen to be on a newer Mac, and the Korg editor/librarian is only PowerPC compatible (really, Korg??), as far as I can tell. I don't have a geriatric Mac lying around unfortunately. The native>play mode did not do anything. Hmmm....
