So that question is framed differently than the OP, at least from my perspective. I am definitely interested in product enhancements for the Kronos, which are actually application updates delivered under the guise of ‘OS updates’ (at least from my IT-influenced viewpoint).GregC wrote:Are 'enough ' Kronos owners serious about wanting OS product enhancement ?
Thats my question.
Count me as a “yes” to continued product enhancements.

I suppose if I gave $50 to "Yes " voters, that would be enough " motivation " ?

Hello Greg, I am very close to closing a deal for a 61-key Kronos, I love the sound and all the possibilities of this great Machine, it is a quantum leap since I got my first Korg workstation, which was the 01W / fd .
Although Kronos is a huge jungle to explore for me, an update is always welcome.
The only complaint I have is the weight of the instrument (14.3 Kilos). Korg could launch a much lighter Kronos successor 8 or 9 kilos maximum (just my thoughts)
My kronos would practically be for study and music production, I will rarely take it to a concert due to back problems. Regards. Hans

have simple question, if your Kronos 61 is mostly sitting in your home studio, why is the weight an issue ?

Hi Greg, thanks for your reply. maybe I haven't made myself understood.
I have had concerts with my arranger keyboard, (obviously it is much lighter than Kronos) which allows me to transport it anywhere, without major inconvenience.
but if I wanted to bring my arranger + Kronos + mixer + speaker + cables and everything that the team requires to play and / or accompany a live singer, I would have to think of a prop, or strong person to help me load the equipment, since I have had back problems when making effort loading equipment.
that is why I would only use my Kronos in the studio, unless the concert is very important and an assistant is worth paying, otherwise kronos s stay at home and the travel arranger.
The other point that I added is if in the future there is a successor to Kronos that is lighter than the current one, surely I would upgrade to the new model.
In the meantime I will continue to enjoy this little beast at home. Regards.

Hi Hans, I have also considered a 1 Man Band Performance at venues, inside and outside.hans1966 wrote:GregC wrote:Hi Hans, good to talk to you, againhans1966 wrote:Hello Greg, I am very close to closing a deal for a 61-key Kronos, I love the sound and all the possibilities of this great Machine, it is a quantum leap since I got my first Korg workstation, which was the 01W / fd .

Yes, my gear is heavy, unwieldy etc etc
Bottom line, due to all the logistics and issues, I would hire 2-3 individuals to lift, haul, setup, guard, provide security, sound check etc etc.
My out of pocket would be $150 +
I could justify the expense but what I do is not the same as what others might do or are willing to do.
IOW, its not just the Kronos 61 weighing 10 pounds ' too much '. IMO.
Yes Greg you're right
It is not just the transportation of equipment.
also security, logistics in short several points to consider.
I see that you have a Kronos 88, the weight is double the 61 keys.
but it is a great keyboard.
I have heard some of your songs that you have shared in the forum and I must say that you are great. I admire your imagination to create those synth pad textures, which create a magical world by listening to your music.
From Colombia, my sincere admiration and appreciation. I encourage you to continue with your great work, and continue to teach us with your pleasant music.
a hug!

Is American artist music of interest in your country ?
I am experimenting with expanding my music portfolio in to what we call 'cover songs '.
Cover songs are commonly known in our country, they could date
back to the 50's. I have access to vocal tracks, pay for licensing, which is
why I am considering this shift in my recording priority.
Of course I do, Greg
In my country, and I personally like electronic and movie music for example: Jan Hammer, Michael Stearns, Vangelis, Jean Michael Jarret, Hans Zimmer, to name just a few. Well let's not leave out Jourdan Roudes, and Kebu, who are also very good.
I really appreciate in these musicians, the ability to create new atmospheres and synthetic textures, and lead you to imagine all kinds of environments from the most subtle and beautiful, to the most dense and dark.

Assuming I write to Mr Korg in 2 weeks, I will ask for your trident engine

does Motown from the 60's sound familiar ? I completed my cover of a Supremes hit , considering doing more, assuming I have listeners interested in such classic material.
