Where's ADSR on the Korg Wavestation Emulator? NOOB ALERT!!

Post by ulrichburke »

Dear Anyone.

So I bought the PC Emulator package - Korg Wavestation, M1 and the INCREDIBLE MDEX which was worth the cost alone, easily! And I'm absolutely c*** at programming anything, but I thought I'd give making my own sounds a shot so I looked up how to program a synth and read all about Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release, which the PDF said would be clearly labeled in any synth I used.

So I chose the Wavestation Emulator to begin my epic journey into desiging camel-farts, and can't find anything marked ADSR anywhere!

Where is it? (Warned you I'm a NOOB!)

Yours puzzledly

Chris.

The Wavestation probably isn't the best synth emulator to look for ADSR since it is quite a complex beast, but the ADSR is there. Go to Edit | Perform and select one of the Parts, then click on Patch. The AMP and ENV1 sections are the places to vary ADSR - the AMP varies the volume, whilst ENV1 varies the envelope used for effects. The parameters can be altered by dragging the graphical points on screen, or edited using the numeric keys in the parameter matrix below the graphical part. As you can probably tell, these ADSR adjustments are separate for each part.

It may be simpler, if you have them, to try the Polysix or the MonoPoly. These have onscreen controls actually labelled as: Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release. On the MonoPoly, these are on the main VST screen, whilst for the others, itis necessary to click on the Edit "button" to get to the right place.

The M1 also has quite complex, multiple ADSR parameters.
