Right Headphone channel not working on Kross 2

Post by GeorgGrech »

Hi,
I bought a Kross 2 just a couple of days ago and I've had a problem right off the get-go.
I've been using my headphones to listen to the Keyboard, but audio only plays on the left channel. I've tried with multiple pairs of headphones, to no avail.
Is this some setting I need to change? Or is there a problem with my Kross?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Is it a brand new Kross? Do the L and R Line Outs output correctly i.e. in stereo?

Either way, based on the info provided, there seems to be a problem with the Kross.

Yeah it's brand new. Bought it off Thomann about a week ago and arrived yesterday.
I don't really have the appropriate connections to try with speakers, but I did record into my PC, and both channels can be heard in that recording.

It's still under warranty. Ask for a replacement.

Just a quick check. a) Are the 1/8" jack plugs on the various headphones tested fully inserted. b) You're not using a 1/8" to 1/4" jack plug adapter.

Were you recording into your PC through the audio L/R connections, or were you using USB? If using USB, then the audio outs do not matter because the signal is running through USB. If you were using the audio L/R outs, were they in stereo? Was there separation (depth) r did it sound right in the center (mono)?

One thing to test the keyboard through the audio L/R outs is to take a sound, and pan it hard to the left and to the right to make sure that the signal is indeed in stereo.

With regard to the headphone jack, make sure it is plugged in all the way. You may even have to jiggle it a bit while it's in the jack - maybe there is dust or something that is causing a short in the one side.

It sounds like there needs to be a more thorough test of the unit to make sure that it is not a factory defect requiring a replacement keyboard.
