Assign each sound of drum kit to a different midi channel?
How do get Kronos to send the various percussive sounds of a drum kit to my DAW on different midi channels? For example, the kick goes out on channel 1 and the cymbal goes out on channel 2. I don't want to have to record each percussive sound separately, recording one time playing the corresponding key on the Korg for each percussive sound.

I don't know about your DAW
I use. '' keyboard zone ' to isolate the use of parts of a drum kit. Per the midi channels used.
You will need to hear, whats going on from C1 to C8 , to establish your custom drum kit/sound. and map it out.
Then , EQ is your best friend for different parts of the kit [s]

I am not trying to use a custom kit but one of the factory installed kits.GregC wrote:I don't know about your DAW

I think understand what you are saying. You're saying zone sections of the keyboard to correspond to a certain midi channel. So if that's what you are saying then what I want to accomplish is possible as long each zone can have its own midi channel assignment. I will need to break open the user guide and see how to do this.

Use it on midi channel 9 and 10
break it up , over 2 ''zones' on your 2 midi channels.
But the kit has 4 [or 5] pieces, cymbals, snare, bass drum, toms
thus you have to decide what to emphasize on your 2 midi channels.
I don't recall the manual getting into it
