Nick G wrote:I have just purchased a new resource pack which includes all the sounds, PCM, Multi samples, Styles etc.

I can do a full resource load which works fine, but obviously i want to just add the additional content to an existing resource backup...

is there an easy way to do this?

I have manual loaded in the sounds to the user banks, same with styles...
but now i have a folder called "PCM" and "MULTISMP" which i cannot load in without overwriting existing samples...

Is there a way to achieve this?

Thanks!

Is your new purchased data a SET or BKP?

If it is a SET then do this:-
(Don't load the full SET)

1. Backup all your data first (save all) e.g. MYSET.SET
2. Load the new pack STYLEs as required
3. Load the new pack SOUNDs as required - loading the sounds should append all the required samples and multisamples
4. Save all as a new set

Obviously load the GLOBAL and other data from the new pack if and as required.

If it is a BKP then do this:-

1. Backup all your data first (save all) e.g. MYSET.SET
2. Perform the full BKP restore (this will overwrite everything)
3. Save a new set (e.g. NEWPACK.SET)
4. Load your normal set (MYSET.SET)
5. Load the NEWPACK.SET STYLEs as required (Don't load the full SET)
6. Load the NEWPACK.SET SOUNDs as required - loading these sounds should load and append all their required samples and multisamples
7. Save all as a new set e.g. MYBIGGERSET.SET

Obviously load the GLOBAL and other data from the new pack if and as required.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks I wasn’t sure what happened there...

It is a folder callled “PA Set” which I can load as is and it just takes over the whole keyboards resources. It includes everything - global, keyboard set, samples, styles, sounds etc all in different sub folders.

I can individually load each folder but the PCM and MULTISMP I cannot choose the location where they go so they save over existing samples that are already loaded in.

Don't load PCM or MULTISMP

These should get loaded when you load the SOUNDs

Would you mind sharing the "Resource Pack" Name/URL so we can all check it out?

Here is the youtube link to the content:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkvO8LHQ9zU

the video also has a link to the ebay page where you can purchase the pack online...

It has been for sale on ebay for some time but with very little information. I asked the seller a questions if they could provide some demos and some more detail a few weeks ago, and just recently he replied with the youtube video (i am assuming he was getting the same request from other people hence why he decided to get into gear and give us a taste of what we were getting for our money)...

And all i can say is I am absolutely blown away by the content. At first I was left a little (wanting more) from the synth / edm sound and style set on the stock PA4x but this package absolutely satisfies in all areas... there are tones of synth / edm / trance leads / hooks / stabs / plucks etc... heaps of basses as well as Drum kits and drum samples...

One of the drum kits has the "Gangnam Style" vocal mapped to one of the keys :)

Alot of the styles have some awesome synth arpeggios playing which are great to use for other custom styles so all in all there is ALOT of content and it is VERY high quality...

A MUST have for anyone who wants more from an EDM / Trance Perspective on their Korg PA keyboards...
