Where is the Pa5X

Post by Aboammar »

So, it has been 5 long years since Korg Pa4X was released, is Korg working on the Pa5X or not?

It has been 2 years since I bought my Pa4X OR MG2, and I am already tired with its low resolution screen, and willing to replace it with next Pa5X just to get a better high resolution screen that is easy on my eye!
Current Keyboard: Korg Pa4X-76 MG Edition II with PaAS

Older Keyboards: GEM WS1, and Ketron Vega EX

PC: HP Z1 G3 AIO Workstation

DAW: Presonus Studio One Pro 4

Hardware upgrade

Post by Keymn »

Built in Bluetooth LE so there is no need for a footswitch like ec5. Utilize the Bluetooth foot controllers like bt200 airturn and Irig Blueboard. I Do it now, but have to use external hardware like Yamaha ud-bt01 to create the midi over Bluetooth signal.

No, just go wireless and have Bluetooth LE built in. I use the Irig BlueBoard for my pa1000. Presently, has 6 functions. Can add another pedal, if needed. I was surprised that the new models did not have that ability...have to use Yamaha ud-bt01 or Quicco mi.1 to accomplish. So of you want to go with more, it can be done now this way:

More outputs. This is 2020 Korg. Having just 4 output jacks is just silly. Add 4 more output jacks and let us choose to output L or R 1 or 2, 3. 4. etc.

1) Motorized sliders

2) Bigger screen and BETTER RESOLUTION

3) 2 or more microphone inputs

4) Wifi

5) cable or Wifi/Bluetooth Connection with smartphones or tablet or PC to control any effects or any screen of keyboard like second screen. It sounds complicated, but it can be very good feature.

6) Speakers - at least small speakers. :(

7) different colors of LEDS

8) faster CPU so it will startup faster :D

bonus: DRINK HOLDER :D all musicians drink when they play :)
2022 = Korg PA5x
2015 = Korg Pa4x 76
2007 = Korg Pa800
2004 = Korg Pa1x

I am sure HDMI will be for sure. As the later series pa1000 already has it...
Pdf over the text would be a plus...

1. Faster processor, CPU. Loading, compressing, and saving takes to long time in 2020.
2. High resolution and bigger screen. Like Kronos.
3. Transpose and octave buttons change location to the left side of the board.
4. Guitar input with integrated FX for it.
5. USB 3 and USB-C ports.
6. 256 voices of polyphony sounds
7. Support for WAV for playback and recording
8. Dedicated hardware buttons for the oriental scale (Quarter Tone Scaling) with at least 3 memory buttons.

1. Direct button for Mixer (first and foremost - we should not have to go into a menu to select "mixer")

2. Remove all the style category buttons (seriously the PA4x needs de cluttering)

3. There is too much text and print on the keyboard panel layout. Where there are numbers and most other small symbols - they should be engraved or printed into the buttons and should be back-lit.

3. Need the Ability to play Styles and Midis directly from the USB stick instead of saving them locally on the keyboard first.

4. Curser Up+Down buttons pressed simultaneously should reset a number value to its original original setting (all Yamahas do this)
