The Record Level slider is disabled in Garageband, so it seems only the keyboard itself can raise the volume but I can't find how in the menu or user manual.
Any tips?

My Korg XE20 is connected to my Mac via USB. Works fine as a MIDI controller, but when I use it as an audio device (so I can record the sounds generated by the keyboard) it's very quiet. This is the waveform of the default piano at full velocity but I've tried several sounds and they're all quiet -
