Calendar IC battery low = lost sequencer data??

Hi Guys,

My Triton Studio 88 after all these years has recently started to warn me that the battery voltage for the calendar IC is low. I understand it's simple to replace but am curious if this battery is responsible for retaining sequencer data? Currently when I power on the Triton, all sequencer data has gone.

Sequencer data are always lost when the keyboard is powered down. The calendar IC has it's own dedicated backup supply from the lithium coin cell. It just saves having to enter the date every time a file save is performed.

Thanks for the swift reply. After all these years I have only just decided to have a play with the Tritons sequencer, I ordinarily use a DAW so have never really needed the Tritons sequencer. I guess the correct approach is to save sequences to the hard disk before powering off.

Indeed, perform a save before power off. The logic behind the need to load up only required sequences was to stop large amounts of sequencer data from accumulating in RAM. It continues to this day, with the Korg Kronos.
