Splitting a default sound: how do you make that sound right?

Post by Kitbashar »

If you take a default sound, and you split it, the new blank will be on the right, and the other patch on the left. How do you swap these? Failing that, how do you clone the left one to the right, so you can make something more favorable for the left?

Hi,

I guess you are talking about the mkXL(+) version, because on the original mk there is no split mode.

Using the board itself, there is no such thing as swapping timbres between left and right. However, you can copy a timbre from 1 (left) to 2 (right) and then edit timbre 1 (left). You can do this within the same program, but you could also setup a new split program and copy the timbres from other ones into it. This would result in init timbre 1 and a copy of your default sound to timbre 2 (but losing effect settings...)
Refer to Global/Utility/COPY.TMBR. See also the manual.

Using the editor drag and drop is the way to go.

Have fun!
