XE20 external midi controller via USB

Post by hananiel »

Does the external midi in via USB work with with a standalone midi controller like Maudio?
If not what is the best way to add pitch bend effects or a joy stick for pitch bend and modulation to this keyboard.

After some research yes this is possible. However since this keyboard only has usb midi it can only connect to a midi host. There are a few options 1. use your computer(pc or Mac), 2. a raspberry pi - some basic scripting involved 3., a dedicated hardware usb host - some of these are pricey. But I am intrigued by this one : https://www.cme-pro.com/widi-uhost/ it can be a midi host, connect to other midi peripherals and be wireless. I haven’t tested any of this but by crippling ek-50 features after marrying it to B2, the extra voices better sound really good or you can just get a nice midi keyboard controller with weighted keys and add it to the ek-50 for nearly the same price. Then there are the issues with keybed sounds. Fingers crossed waiting for this to be delivered.
