SV1 not resetting

this has happened a few times, I power it on and the tube flashes/pulses but I don't get any sound. I've followed the instructions, 1. turn it off, 2. hold function while turning it on, 3. wait for the LEDS to flash (20 seconds and nothing)

I've plugged it into my laptop w/ the SV1 editor open, repeated the reset steps but still nothing. Any ideas?
