Using audio input to mix additional keyboard

Post by Richkeys »

Is it possible to "mix" another keyboard connected to the audio inputs so that that it comes out of teh output along with the Kronos?

Yes, it is possible. In the Global Basic Audio tab menu, there is a Bus Select option. For a keyboard with stereo output, use both inputs. For Input1 and Input2 select the appropriate Bus. Use L/R for both inputs if you want the audio to go directly to the outputs as is, with the Pan controls set full left for Input1 and full right for Input2, or select an effects bus, if you want the audio to pass through the Kronos' effects, which can be very cool.

Set the rear panel audio controls appropriately for the incoming signal level. For an external keyboard, the signals will probably be Line level, so the two switches should be in the "In" position.

I have a few synths going into my Kronos. My setup is:

Deepmind 12 Keyboard and Deepmind 12 Desktop outputs to OASYS Inputs 1,2,3, & 4. OASYS S/P DIF Out to Kronos S/P DIF Input.

Virus TI Keyboard into Kronos Inputs 1 & 2.

IPad (with camera kit connector) into Kronos USB.

I can hear both Deepminds, the Virus, the OASYS, the Ipad, and the Kronos all at the same time. I haven't recorded, using a mixer, for years.
