This is pretty underwhelming from a product support POV. Basically they just made it possible to buy more EXs.

How many EXs libraries could be installed earlier?
What was the limit?

This is about the most useless and hilarious kind of update I can imagine. :-)

The very last thing I will ever do, is buy any more libraries for a no longer supported product like the Kronos. It didn't even get the EP-1 engine update of the crippled "Nautilus" - the only thing which would still have been useful for Kronos users.

Agree, not bothering with this update.

I think the Kronos is where it is.

No more updates, move on…

I’m saving for when it fails it’s my 88 of choice and my workhorse studio keyboard. But if this is it I’m still happy and thinking it’s the best investment I made 7 years ago…..

I will buy many EXs libraries for Kronos in the future even if it sold out! I recently bought a new Kronos2 and I believe that it's the best desicion I ever made. The instrument is a Beast!!! Please KORG keep updating Kronos with new features and libraries!!! There are thousands of Kronos owners out there that want new sounds.

Dimitris

From Kurt Adler’s FB Page:

Dear KORG,
Thank you so much for the new update 3.14 that removes the limitation of EXs installation but it would be great if you continue to support your flagship users!
It would be great if you expand the dark mode and also the program banks like the Nautilus!
I know there is a cost involved but your KRONOS users will really thank you!
The majority of users would even be willing to pay for such an extensive update!
Please listen to us!!!!
All the best,
Kurt

And THAT is why I continue to buy KA products (oh, and the fact that they are just great!).

Let's hope that happens.

Yes, Korg demonstrates it's current arrogance and contempt for it's customers. I will update because who knows, the people in Korg making the decisions might move elsewhere and be replaced by people who value an ongoing relationship with musicians who use their products. But until then my next purchase will be from Roland who appear to enjoy maximising their products for their customers.

Steveyoung, I’m surprised you are disappointed regarding updates for the Kronos. The fact that it is 11 years old and still receiving software updates at all is quite impressive.

By comparison, the Roland Fantom G was released in 2008 and received its final software update in 2011. The Jupiter 80 was released the same year as the Kronos and received its last firmware update was early 2015.

So what makes you think Roland’s track record is better than Korg’s in this regard?
Current Equipment:

For me it's not even a year since I bought my Kronos2!! 11 years are since the first Kronos release. I believe, at least, Kronos2 owners stiil need some more support!

Dimitris
