Minilogue external envelope

Have anyone tried using cv in as an external envelope?
My plan was to try using my MS-20 mini envelope cv out
To minilogue XD cv in to modulate the filter

I also have the minilogue the first one, and I can not
understand why the XD’s envelope is a deal breaker.
The XD is cable of much more than the original.
