triggering "chords" mode from external input?

has anyone found a way to play in a single note from an external keyboard and have the associated channel ( or the one that is currently selected) play in the Chord mode rather than as a single note?

Its a real shame if not as it seems Korg have really missed a trick for those of us who would like to trigger chords from an external keyboard ( or in my case drums ) [/code]

I'm pretty sure I tried this and it doesn't work. Just the note(s) received from midi will play regardless of the chord button being selected on the electribe.
