Piano volumes very low

Post by Foxtrotter »

Took delivery today of my PA5X 88 key.

First thing that struck me was how the volume level of the pianos is very low and need to raise the volume slider to maximum. If I then switch to another voice e.g an organ, it's ridiculously loud and I need to lower the volume slider.

I'm using the PAAS speaker.

I have tried various velocity settings, hard, soft medium but this doesn't really help.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.[/b]

I realised that IF you raise the volume, and resave settings etc, then you can hear a BAD NOISE!

So i think and Hope that KORG can , or even MUST fix this problem

Hello Foxtrotter,
Not to drift out of topic.. How do you like the 88 key action?
What was your previous 88 key action board? How do you compare to the previous one? Lighter action? There is no 88 keys available to test where I am from. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

It's quite a few years since I used an 88 piano style keyboard, Yamaha clavinova. So I can't really compare it with the Korg. For the past few years I've been playing a Wersi organ and I found the Korg keys to be very different. They felt quite heavy at first and I found I wasn't hitting them hard enough particularly with pianos as the sound doesn't seem to trigger until the key is fully down. However after just two days I find I'm getting used to the feel of the keys and have no regrets.

One thing I would say is that they are quite noisy and when I'm listening with headphones my wife complains that she can hear the clunk, clunk, clunk of the keys.
