Woah!!!

This takes me back to my excitement when the Audya was first announced - I hope Ketron release this in a stable useable state - I'm very excited even though it will not reach Australia.

Perhaps a discussion with Ketron might be useful regarding Australia position ?

Even if there are no plans to import, i am sure in this day and age if the Desire is strong enough there are ways of getting one??

How about a step on the Wild Side, become Australia's distributor for Ketron 8)

Are you all only playing with styles? I mainly use MIDI files (play mostly saxophone), so I couldn't use the non-editable audio tracks anyway... and the sounds you could hear so far are, to my ears, less sophisticated than Pa5.
Sorry 4 my English - I only speak Polish & German & really like my Pa5X :)

I play mostly styles (hence needing a high quality arranger). MIDIs are sometimes OK for me but I find them way too much editing work and restrictive on playback.

Can't compare PA5 with Ketron - don't own either.... but will when I've had a chance to properly review them - YouTube never counts when it comes to sounds....

Glad you are enjoying your PA5x

Thanks, but I don't have a Pa5 yet, currently Pa1000, but I want to wait until the issue of the unstable OS is completely gone and also to decide if it would be worth the extra cost to me for the Musikant version.
I suppose I could also be satisfied with Ketron or Yamaha, but for my applications it will most likely be Korg again with the overall package. :)

I am finding this new Ketron EVENT a little confusing - several demos now and more every day. Many are really sounding much like Yamaha/Casio styles which I've always considered too basic and repetitive but then these "REAL" bass and other "REAL" features come up are are quite mind blowing. I originally thought all the styles and sounds were in this "REAL" category but it seems not so.

I could just be confused but I'm losing interest...... watched this demo of a direct comparison between the EVENT and SD9 and must say that I preferred the SD9 quite a few times...

Will keep watching and maybe just hope Korg fixes the PA5 a bit faster.... come on Korg - just do it!!

I have been of this opinion for a long time. The category "Real" only exists under the styles, it has nothing to do with the sounds. Ketron tries to call as "real" what is called RX at Korg, whether they will come to DNC one day.... Who still thinks that there is not enough difference in sound between Pa4 and Pa5 should listen to Pete's video.

well, ketron sd 9 was god in some demos, some sounds, live sounding, sometimes more live than it has to be,
event is better in deep, you can hear that in the demos.

Yeah - Gospel Pianos were the Oz distributors but now there are none.

Agree with you re the marketing of the EVENT - perhaps they have employed some ex-Korg arranger marketing staff

P :D
I found dealer in Vic Ketron Australia, looks like they are doing the job now!

Event Price! Whoahhh

Post by robkeith »

Ketron Australia are you kidding me?.. first I saw $6;900 a bit pricy a month ago niw over and close to $9,000. A joke it must be. It doesn’t matter how good this keyboard is, this is way past a reasonable price. Look at comparable other arr and synths of amazing legacy. So you’re going to gouge cashed up oldies, but be careful times are tough and when they have ran out of money where will you go too then?.

Omg it would have to clean my car and house and have sex with me to sell my soul to buy this. Please rethink your flawed strategy.

Well that's the death of Ketron for me - at least the PA5x price is dropping (but not enough for a half-working keyboard!)

Like SD9 but with more audio tracks. Only the most important, the sound engine - IMO - is far better in Pa4.

I have not noticed any price drop here for the PA5x. Is your price drop local your area only Pete? :?
