How to kontrol Pa5X over MIDI
I know that styles an player is posible control over midi channal. The channel must be set as Control and control commands are midi evenř Program Change.
But I don't know, how to control assignable functions as Ritarando, Accelerando, Forward, Backward and other. I would like to control them using the foot switch FCB1010 or other MIDI controller.

This video? https://youtu.be/XpjhY4PO8j0rikkisbears wrote:Hi, Bonners did a video on assignable functions, but the ones you mentioned are not on the list.
The style controls are shown here, they are not assignable functions. This control is also described in the user manual in the MIDI chapter.
But I'm asking about assignable functions. That is, functions that do not have their own fixed buttons, but can be assigned to control buttons in the settings. This is not described in the manual.

Hi Petre , thought you were referring to what could be assigned to the pedal.
Not sure I’m understanding correctly. I did find this video a few weeks ago and found it very interesting. It’s about live control on PA5x. Was done some months ago though. Maybe it will help.

I don't know if it's true for the Pa5X, but many other korg keyboards transmit MIDI messages to the MIDI Out port when the various controls are operated, and respond to the same messages when sent to the keyboard via the MIDI In port, so it might be worth listening to the MIDI Out port, using something like MIDI-OX, and noting the messages that are being transmitted by the Pa5X.
.
.
I tried that and I didn't find anything. Probably because the PA5X does not allow to set the Global mode to any output midi channel. I can set the control mode, but I didn't catch anything on it.

Traditionally in the PA series, a lot of MIDI implementation info is not available.
It is frustrating that the PA5x no longer supports the EC5 - you'll note that there are just a few listed PC/CC MIDI details in the manuals but things like Ritarando, Accelerando, Forward, Backward, VAR-up, VAR-down and more are NOT covered - these can only be assigned to the switches and assignment pedals but not via a MIDI pedal like the FCB1010 in Bonners' video.
I've been whinging about this for years and trying to find a solution!!! I use the EC5 multi-pedal and most of my EC5 "functions" are those that are NOT available as MIDI values (per the manuals) that you can simply assign to a generic MIDI pedal. I own the FCB1010 pedal and it can do some amazing things BUT Korg need to help us with the PA series MIDI Implementation!!!!
We have needed a MIDI implementation manual from Korg since the PA1x and we've requested it hundreds of times.
The "PA5x NO-EC5" situation is one reason I cannot simply jump into a PA5x right now - I use it for all my song performances/recordings - I have been using this pedal for over 20 years since the i3 - love it.
Wish I could help - I only hope that Korg will implement a way we can control these functions via regular MIDI on the PA5x.
