So I googled and bought 3 of these strips :

2 for my WDs and 1 for my TV.

USB powered !
Length 2 meter can be cut ... I did not and use the full 2 m ... 2 times around the WD
Integrated mic for light organ effects.
Works with a small remote control or via Bluetooth with my mobile.
Highly custumizeable with the Android app (Apple not tested)
You can play a clicktrack (or any audio) on your fone and get an optical metronome.

Installation:
Below the pressure shield
Below the Rim esp. with a white bottom WD (ORI or GLB) illuminates the bottom !! (Im still in test mode)
The receiver unit is inside the WD (I drilled a small hole for the power jack)

1 Powerbank for both WD 9 Volt and the Led strip - no hiss.
You find clips on the Amazon page, just use your imagination ... this strip does it.
