Style Signature sorting

Post by tgv777 »

Hello,
I digged into the forum looking for a way how to sort the styles by time signature.
I founded this topic
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... 09&start=0
but as it says this is not possible yet (may be on PA5X ?)
One possibility would be to use the songbook to overpass this problem.
Does any one know how to make a list of the factory styles along with their time signature. By doing this it would be possible to create new entries in the songbook that will be used for sorting the styles.
I checked with PA Manager and kss (korg style sniffer) but none of then does the job.
Any idea ?

Hello,
It's been a year since I wrote this post and it seems that sorting styles by time signature is not of much interest to musicians.
Yet, it would make my life much easier when I am looking for the right style for a specific music. The style titles in PA4X are so ambiguous that it's not easy to tell if it's a 3/4 or 4/4 time signature for example.
But maybe I missed something obvious to everyone.

There is a way to achieve what you require but it is rather time consuming.

Global / Menu / Mode preferences / Media -untick Factory Protect

You are then free to rename any factory style, perhaps by simply adding the appropriate time signature, for example "Jazz Club 4/4". You will then be able to carry out a simple style search by time signature. You could even set up "blocks" in your user banks headed 3/4, 4/4, 6/8 etc.

Don't forget to "retick" Factory Protect when you've finished.

It's not necessary to untick Factory Protect if you are editing the titles of styles in your user banks.

Someone else may be able to suggest an easier method but this suggestion is the first that springs to mind.
