Korg Pa1000 OS Update
An OS update is done and currently under test for the Korg Pa1000 MG (the local Lebanese model of Korg PA1000 developed by Korg for Music Gear, which is the Lebanese Korg dealer). This update increases the RAM size for new PCM multisamples.
This news implies that a similar OS update for the international Korg PA1000 model will appear soon, as it was announced by Music Gear, that Korg decided to release this RAM size increase OS update for all the PA1000 models (local MG model and international model).

In its Telegram app forum, Music Gear annonced today that the User PCM Sample memory becomes 500 MB compressed (equivalent to 1000 MB linear data).

How did they achieve that 60%? Has it always been there in every Pa1000 or do they use compression.Haniaudio wrote:The OS update is released:

Hi everyone,
To be positive that is good that Korg thought about their midrange arranger users and gave an update, I have to install it today after work on my pa1000 and see what changes I can see, as far as the promising memory expansion, I am a bit concerned that having extra 180mb user ram without extra user banks would be useless and hope that is not the case.
On the other hand if they changed the graphics on the display to something better than cartoon icons for the instruments then I would say that is a great change , but I think it’s understandable that for new things they have pa5x .

Korg Pa 1000 OS upgrade
I agree 100% with Moebrand . The RAM upgrade is useless without user banks. I already have 200Mb free RAM but no user banks or slots to save any new sounds.
I agree 100% with Moebrand and MusicLover400, too. The RAM upgrade is useless without user banks. I already have 150Mb free RAM but no user banks or slots to save any new sounds. Instead, I have one and a half Drumkit bank empty!!

Dimitris
