Kronos 2 SSD upgrade success

Post by garybeaman »

Hi everyone,

Just in case anyone is looking for a compatible SSD for you Kronos 2 I've just upgraded mine. I purchased 2 Lexar NQ100 SSD's, a 480Gb one for £22 and a 240Gb one for £15. I was going to use the 240Gb one as the main drive, then the 480Gb one for a secondary, but ended up cloning the original drive on to the 480Gb using a hardware dock (SSK Aluminum Hard Drive Docking Station £29) then expanding the partition using GParted. All works fine so far and does seem faster to boot up. Since there is no list as to which drives work and which don't I thought I would share my success, hope it might prove useful to someone else. :D

I did mine a few months ago. I didn't use a hardware dock. Just a laptop running Ubuntu Linux. Here's my thread about it.

I have my original SSD and a 2nd clone stashed safely away.
But I still get the occasional "A problem has been detected" error once in a while.
