Why is this forum not secure?

I see that this forum is HTTP and not HTTPS.
Why is this forum less protected than it should be?

The website doesn't handle sensitive data such as banking details, or financial transactions, nor medical histories. Everything is pretty much publicly viewable anyway, except for passwords, and the memberlist link gives a 404 error.
