Instrument sound spontaneously "detuning"

Post by leland_iko_music »

Hi All,

As some might know, I do a lot of live looping, and select several instruments from the PA5X to create the layers in the loopstation... whether they be from the keyboard-sets or the larger banks of sounds available in the sound-edit banks.

Very recently, I have encountered an issue where when adding a new layer, the instrument selected is spontaneously "out of tune" by a few Hz (usually slightly flat, as if the instrument is set to Verdi tuning instead of concert tuning). This cannot be corrected using the transpose buttons since those work only in semitones, and cannot adjust for just a few Hz.

If I select another instrument temporarily, and return that that instrument, it is then again correctly in tune but might sometimes bend itself back out of tune in the middle of a passage.

This problem is exacerbated when doing some solo runs with either synth lead or guitar sounds and using the pitch-bend/expression joystick or ribbon control.

This didn't used to occur at all, but over the past couple of weeks has become more and more frequent.

Any ideas what could be causing this ?

Thanks in advance

Leland
