SONGBOOK DILEMA HELP PLEASE!

Post by Vangelismusic »

One problem I have and I don't know if it's a bug, is that when I write a user style in Songbook and I set up for example intro 2 and variation 1 and I want to start with a piano which is Keyboard set 3 I save it to songbook and instead of keyboard set 3 it starts in keyboard set 1 which is a flute, now I go to the write section and I set the Keyboard set instead of all, I specify to keyboard set 3 and press write and again it goes back to keyboard set one? what am I doing wrong? what is the difference between ALL and the bottom which you are able to specify what keyboard set number to save? I can't find any video that gives more detail on the songbook they show only simple way of writing only.

You nothing did wrong - Korg did it wrong with Pa4x/1000/700!

Korg has switched to combining the change of each SB entry with a change to KbdSet#1 to the disadvantage of a variable design of a song sequence.

I reported this as a bug, but Korg claimed to have deliberately programmed this in such a nonsensical way so that every change in the Sb entry automatically activates KbdSet#1.

This is described in the manual (page 37, Playing th Sounds):

When choosing a Style, the Keyboard Set automatically recalled depends on the status of the STYLE TO KBD SET button (see page 55). When choosing a SongBook Entry, Keyboard Set #1 is always recalled.
kind regards

Select your song -> Select KBD 3 -> return to songbook -> Write -> Keyboard Set -> Select KBD 3 ( Piano ) ( NOT ALL ) enter 1 in box -> Write..... NOTE when you call up the song, Piano will now appear in KBD 1 & 3, the flute will have been replaced by piano so if you liked the flute save the song to something else before starting ( RULE Save before making changes ) Hope this helps. You have done everything correctly....instead of 3 put in 1. Your piano will now be in 1 & 3. Call up song-> KBD Flute go to save and save to KBD 3.
