Wavestate Native = changing sequence length

I'm trying to add a step to the pitch lane. I can add the step easily enough using the + button but I'm not succeeding in making the pitch sequence longer to include the new step. Can someone please tell me how to increase the length of the sequence (set loop end step)? None of the start/end loop and step knobs are enabled.

Maybe there is a modulation somewhere that is assigned to the start/end steps or loops. But these start/end steps are never deactivated or disabled.
