Korg O/S Update Easy Record Function.
Hi,
Could any Forum Member please confirm that the 'Easy Record', 'Quick Record' feature has now been activated in this 1.3.0 O/S.
I honestly do not care whatsoever about Kaoss or other features that I am never going to use.

Hi,
this is taken from Official Documentation entitled : Korg PA5X Frequently asked questions. It was Posted on Korg Forums by a Member over a year ago therefore it would have been written by Korg earlier than that.
Quick Recording
Q: Will recording tools such as Quick Record be present in upcoming OS releases?
A: Yes. We are working on a new design of the Quick Record engine as part of a future OS release that will take full advantage of the powerful new Pa5X engine. We are targeting this to be available in the next OS update, date TBA.

Hi,
Thank you for that news Qui as I'm currently away from the PA5X keyboard.
It really makes the mind boggle when Korg include this in their literature from over 18 months ago and then totally ignore the feature in their last two O/S Updates.
As I said previously, all I want is a relatively stable O/S (hopefully 1.3.0 is) and for the buttons to be replaced under Warranty and then I can p/x my PA5X for something different.

Excuse my ignorance here, but having no experience with the PA4X or any other Korg arranger keyboard, what exactly does this much-requested Quick Record feature do, in contrast to the sequencer that's already available in the PA5X? Is it to be able to quickly create and assign one's own style component (e.g. a new intro or variation or fill) in real time at the PA5X's keyboard?

Hi Sjmarano,
Basically it's for easiness. With Quick Record (also on Yamaha arrangers) you can record in one complete take a song without having to split everything into individual tracks. I don't have any interest in learning the art of multi-tracking. If the quick record feature is done properly it should also memorize all your keyboard settings.
The reason I am making an issue is that Korg said they were working on it nearly two years ago.
Read the fifth paragraph down about Quick Recording.
https://www.korg.com/us/products/synthe ... 5x/faq.php
It's quite simple Sjmarano, you should not tell people you are going to do something a.s.a.p. and then not do it !!
I hope that answers your question.

Thanks very much, Chelsea4023. You have no need to justify your position on this! My reason for asking about the Easy Record function was strictly to better understand what feature PA5X customers are still missing.
And I am one hundred percent in agreement with you re Korg management's behavior. I read the same promise from Korg, and it is both extremely disappointing and aggravating that they to date have not honored their commitment. Frankly I wouldn't even mind such a delay if they at least had the courtesy to communicate with their customers to give at least some explanation and time frame, especially given the level of investment in such a high-end product. IMHO there is absolutely no extenuating circumstance nor valid reason for them - or any company for that matter- not to communicate with their customers. Having said this, I am overall satisfied with my decision to purchase the PA5X several months ago as I still believe firmly that it is one of the most capable currently-mfd keyboards of any kind, and I feel that Korg WILL get it right in the hopefully near future. Despite all the negativism, I am encouraged by the fact that their update frequency appears to be no worse than once a year, and I also understand that a good portion of the 'old' development team that worked on the PA4X is now back working on the PA5X after having been let go due to the pandemic. I hope that my optimism bears out!
